Types of Ovens

However, they only use pans that are compatible with induction and can be a little more expensive than some other types of hob.

Other options include a glass ceramic hob, which offers a sleek appearance and is easy to wipe clean. Induction Hobs

Induction hobs are a favorite option for those looking for a sleek and efficient method to cook. They utilize electromagnetic induction to heat the pans. On the glass surface are coils that when a pot that is compatible is placed on them, emit a magnetic field which causes an electric current to run through its base. This generates heat that quickly warms up the food in the pan while the cooktop stays cool.

Induction hobs are also renowned for being more energy efficient than traditional electric or gas models. They only heat the area in which a pan is placed, which reduces energy consumption and waste. A lot of induction hobs come with a safety function that will shut off the appliance when no pan is found or if the pan has been removed, further reducing the amount of waste.

Induction models, such as gas hobs come with various types of controls including dial, slide and touchscreen controls.
